Hey everyone!
My name is Mandela Massina but in the studio, they call me Young Manny. I am both a writer and hip-hop artist hailing from Pickering, Ontario.
I’ve come to love hip-hop as a culture and artform, especially as it pertains to the written aspect. My major influences come from a variety of artists such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole, Meek Mill, Lauryn Hill, Tupac, Biggie, Eminiem, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, Wale, Rapsody, Pusha T and Rick Ross.
I’ve been writing my whole life, be it stories, essays, novels but I came to writing raps in 2016 when I was in grade twelve. I’ve worked with London, Ontario producer and music savante, Dynamic High as well as Toronto based artists, Spitty and Content whom I met through Western University.
In January 2020, I succeeded in writing and recording my first independent album called First Impressions, detailing my thoughts and experiences of my first semester of university at UWO. As of right now, I am currently writing raps and developing an even more conceptual rap project to one day share with you all.
